Every life is important

VISION:

It is the vision of the WEF that through its wildlife educational efforts, wildlife and biodiversity will be respected, valued and conserved by an informed and responsible human population, ensuring a healthy planet for generations to come.

MISSION:

Our mission is to improve the standard of wildlife education, knowledge and conservation by promoting education, training, research and providing leadership towards optimal wildlife education, conservation and management.

PURPOSE:

The purpose of the WEF is to advance the development of Wildlife Education in all its aspects and in doing so, promote and support wildlife education and conservation.

OBJECTIVES:

The main objective of the WEF is to promote and provide quality wildlife education and knowledge to all the youth, communities and relevant sectors in South Africa – both the youth (tomorrow’s leaders and decision-makers) and the adult generation (today’s leaders and decision-makers);

The foundation’s objectives also include working in collaboration with other organisations that mainly deal with wildlife education to develop and produce high quality, educational wildlife resource material in all possible formats to further promote and support wildlife education and conservation.

The foundation’s will also create opportunities and provide an environment where learners, educators, researchers, conservationists, managers and decision-makers interested in wildlife and conservation can share knowledge at a national and international level.

An ultimate objective of the foundation is to establish a world-class wildlife academy to educate and train South Africans who are passionate and committed to wildlife and its conservation, with the academy’s education programme focussing on all aspects of wildlife, its conservation and eco-tourism.
